IE 499      SUMMER PRACTICE II       (Non-credit)

Catalog Data:

A minimum of 6 weeks (30 working days) training in a manufacturing or service company. Observation of the various aspects of the production system (such as Operations Planning, Human Factors and Management Information Systems). Preparation of a written report based on the IE499 guide. (Prerequisites: IE 301, IE 304,  IE 307)

Goals:

The purpose of this course is to provide an opportunity for the student to receive  training in a manufacturing or service facility.

Objectives:

• To guide the student for structured information gathering and analysis of a   manufacturing or service  company

• To help student in identifying different departments, organizations, functionalities, processes and their interactions present in a manufacturing facility

• To improve  formal report writing skills
