Goals:
This course provides the tools necessary to interpret and use accounting information related to the business environment. By concentrating on the end uses of accounting information, the students should develop an understanding of the various techniques available that will help them in making decisions.
Objectives:
· To give students a grasp of essential business and accounting terminology.
· To help students become intelligent users of financial information in making critical business decisions.
· To help students analyze manufacturing costs.
· To help students understand behavior of costs.
· To help students understand product costing and pricing.
· To give students reading, communication and team working skills.

2. The basic accounting model and the recording process (2 weeks)
3. Measuring business income and completing the accounting cycle (1 week)
4. Merchandising operations (1 week)
5. Depreciation (2/3 weeks)
6. Long term financing (1 week)
7. Special statements and analysis of accounting information (1 week)
8. Managerial accounting basics (1 week)
9. Cost Volume Profit Analysis (1 week)
